Tapestry Friday Update: Week 6

Hello, Friends of CLDI!

I hope you all had a great week. We had an unexpected find the previous week at the building site – some remnants of some old buildings and debris! The good news is that the extra excavation was possible without compromising the geo piers, so we are back on track! Sure enough, you are bound to find a piece of forgotten history whenever you dig a foundation!

Next week the construction crew will begin to form up the footings, lay the rebar, and get some concrete poured. Looking at the weather forecast, we are hopeful we will get to pour some of the foundational walls as well! Cody, the Site Superintendent, said that he couldn’t remember a winter when foundation work has been as pleasant as it has been for us! Now that the foundation is on its way to being done, lumber will soon be ordered to frame the 27-unit structure!

Blessings on your weekend!
