Skills with a Purpose
Apprenticeship Program
Hope and Opportunity Await
Developing Tomorrow’s Leaders
Our apprenticeship program is a beautiful picture of everything we believe in. Through hands-on training and mentorship, we take young adults with limited job experience and help them develop into confident, skilled workers ready for sustainable employment. Our hope is to combat the cycle of poverty by investing in and creating new opportunities for locals while also contributing to the economic growth of the South Side community.
More Than Just Job Training
The Impacts of Apprenticeship
Combatting the Cycle of Poverty
This program combats the cycle of poverty by investing in and developing in South Side local community leaders. Our work and partnerships allow us to recruit trainees, come alongside and support them, and ultimately, break the cycle of poverty.
Fostering & Connecting Community
We desire our apprentices to become anchor points in their neighborhoods; people who foster community growth and build long-term relationships. We want them to be safe places for others to find renewal and hope.
Jobs for South Side Community Members
The Apprentice Program provides jobs and helps develop the skills needed for securing future sustainable employment. This holistic program also supports each apprentice in their mental, emotional, and spiritual health, giving them the tools to live life well.
Restorative Economic Development
Apprenticeship Program
The CLDI Apprenticeship program provides opportunities for young adults to discover and develop valuable life skills to help launch them into their next stage of life.
Using a mentorship structure, the apprenticeship is designed to help participants discover their identity and unique giftings. This holistic process focuses on relationship development, skill building opportunities, goal setting, mindset transformation, and more.
Our goal is to provide an opportunity for individuals with minimum job experience with the hopes that we can help open the door for future employment and opportunities.

“If I hadn’t done the apprenticeship program I feel like I would be missing out on a lot. To look back to where I first started and where I am now and what I’ve been talking about; it’s a lot of growth.”
Aleiah Ramirez
“Work is sometimes all about the business…here it’s about everyone…everything. It’s about yourself, others, learning, growing. It’s like you’re a family. That’s why I always say Rail//Line’s pretty much my family; my other family.”
We are so proud of Aleiah and her time with us here at Rail//Line. The community we get to build here is truly special!
Christian Nava
“Working at Rail//Line is a big deal because it’s helping me go toward my goals and stay out the street…I want to change the way people look at my last name. ” Christian is doing this every day! He no longer works here at Rail//Line, but remains an integral part of our family and community.

Staying in the South Side
Currently operating through our Hannah House daycare program, apprentices gain valuable skills in childcare and child development while supporting mothers in recovery and their children. We also continue to partner with Maple Moose at Rail//Line to provide additional opportunities, demonstrating our ongoing commitment to developing job skills through real-world work experience right here in the South Side.
Donate to Apprentices
