Internship Spotlight by Kaylee Thompson

Eleven months. As a young adult, it can feel like such a significant chunk of time. Walking with our interns during my time as Internship Director, it is exciting to see all the growth and change that can happen in what, as an older adult, feels like a relatively short amount of time.

After wrapping up our 2022-2023 intern class, it is amazing to look back and reflect on the numerous ways each intern has grown and continues to lean into what it means to be a disciple of Jesus.

You get out of the internship what you’re willing to put into it, and I was encouraged to see how this group of interns dove in headfirst—even when it was stretching, tiring, and pushed them out of their comfort zone.

The whole CLDI team seeks to engage our interns in meaningful experiences, but we know that it is God’s work that ultimately brings about a transformation of the heart. In that vein, we would be so grateful if you would pray for the upcoming 2023-2024 intern class.

As part of the experience, the interns will live in our South Side community, engage in a weekly reading forum, work 30-40 hours in a ministry placement, and take a two-week international exposure trip.

If you would be interested in learning more about the internship program at CLDI or how to get involved, please reach out; we would be happy to chat with you!
